BOBBY J. CHRISTENSEN, OD, F.A.A.O Dr. Christensen joined Dr. Baldwin in 1974. He graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry. He has held numerous offices in professional organizations including President of the Oklahoma Optometric Association, President of the Heart of America Contact Lens Society, Program Chairman for the Heart of America Contact Lens Society, and Program Chairman for the American Optometric Contact Lens Section. Dr. Christensen has become well known as an author and lecturer in the areas of pathology, primary care optometry, contact lens care, and practice management. He has served as Equipment Review Editor for Optometric Economics. He co-authored the book RX for Success. He was named "Optometrist of the Year" in 1995, by the Heart of America Contact Lens Society (representing a 7 state region). He was named "Optometrist of the Year" in 1997, by the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians. In 2000, Optometric Management named him one of the "Top 10 ODs of the Decade". He is a Fellow in the American Academy of Optometrists and has earned Diplomate status in the Cornea and Contact Lens Section.
Locally, he is a member of the Midwest City Rotary Club, past president of the Midwest City Jaycees and an active member of Wickline United Methodist Church serving as Co-Chairman of the Finance Committee. Dr. Christensen is Senior Vice President of Vision Source, L.P. His team of network representatives provide service to the 2035 Vision Source practices in the United States and 60 practices in Canada that are part of the Vision Source Network.

RUSSELL H. LAVERTY, O.D., M.Ed., F.A.A.O. Dr. Laverty joined the practice in 1990. He is a member of the American Academy of Optometry and has achieved the status of Diplomate in Cornea and Contact Lenses. His training includes Laser Vision Correction and he is board certified to do refractive surgery. He specializes in difficult contact lens cases such as keratoconus, toric soft and rigid gas permeable lenses, bifocal contact lenses and contact lenses after corneal surgery. His general practice of optometry includes treating/monitoring patients with glaucoma, diabetes and cataracts. Dr. Laverty is past president of the Oklahoma Optometric Physicians Association. He currently serves as Executive Director on the Oklahoma State Board of Examiners in Optometry.
Dr. Laverty's wife, Nancy, is a retired math teacher and now home schools their granddaughter, Randi. Dr. Laverty is a former Big Eight high jump champion and enjoys officiating in the state OSSAA track meets. He enjoys motorcycling and flying his private vintage airplane. His family attends the Memorial Road Mennonite Brethren Church where Dr. Laverty serves as Church Board Chairman.

JOHN C. SMAY, O.D. Dr. Smay graduated with highest honors in 1996 from the Northeastern State College of Optometry in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. After graduation he completed a one year residency in ocular pathology at the Western Oklahoma Eye Center in Elk City, Oklahoma. Dr. Smay joined the Midwest City Vision Source office in 1997. He practices primary care optometry, which includes fitting contact lenses, prescribing glasses, treatment of ocular diseases including glaucoma, and co-management of Laser Vision Correction. He works closely with several cataract, refractive, and retinal surgeons in the area to ensure good surgical outcomes. He has served as president of the Oklahoma City District Optometric Association.
Dr. Smay lives with his son Christian, and daughter Chloe in the Midwest City area. He has been active in several community organizations including the Midwest City Kiwanis Club and the Choctaw Nicoma Park Public School Foundation. Dr. Smay has completed the Midwest City Chamber of Commerce Leadership course. He attends Life Church with his children. |

COREY CHRISTENSEN, O.D.
Dr. Corey Christensen was raised in Midwest City and graduated from Midwest City High School. He graduated in 2004 with highest honors from Northeastern State College of Optometry in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and then returned home to join the Midwest City Vision Source office. He practices full scope primary care optometry, which includes: fitting toric, bifocal, keratoconus, post surgical and corneal refractive therapy contact lenses. He provides glasses in the lightest, thinnest material available. He is certified in the treatment of glaucoma and other ocular diseases. He co-manages with ocular surgeons to provide comprehensive eye and vision care working with cataract, refractive and retinal specialists. He is certified to perform anterior ophthalmic laser procedures such as YAG laser to treat capsule clouding following cataract surgery. Dr. Christensen is currently pursuing his MBA at Oklahoma University.
Dr. Christensen and his wife, Carolyn, live in Midwest City with their two sons, Brian and Jonathan, and attend the Choctaw Church of Christ. Carolyn is also from Midwest City and previously taught at Chotaw Elementary and Rose State College. Dr. Christensen has strong family roots and has special interests in automobile racing, motorcycles, and spending time with his family. He enjoys keeping up with the latest changes in technology and serving the people in our community.
